CVD diamond sourcing
CVD diamonds, grown to your specification.
CVD (chemical vapour deposition) grows real diamond in a plasma reactor, layer by layer, on a diamond seed. Tell us the shape, size, colour and report you need: one requirement, one reply with stock, price and lead time from a grower in India.

How it's grown
Inside a CVD reactor
Thin diamond seed plates sit on a cooled stage inside a vacuum chamber. Methane and hydrogen flow in, and microwaves turn the gas into a glowing plasma. Carbon atoms settle onto the seeds and extend the diamond crystal, layer by layer, over a few weeks.
The grower then cuts the rough block, often treats it to improve colour, and polishes it like any diamond.

CVD diamond FAQ
What is a CVD diamond?
A CVD diamond is a real diamond grown by chemical vapour deposition: carbon from a methane and hydrogen gas mix is deposited, atom by atom, onto a thin diamond seed plate inside a microwave plasma reactor. It has the same crystal structure, hardness and optical properties as a mined diamond.
Who are the main CVD diamond manufacturers?
Most gem-quality CVD diamonds are grown in India, centred on Surat in Gujarat, where growing, cutting and polishing often happen in the same company. There are also CVD growers in the United States, China, Singapore and Europe.
Are CVD diamonds treated after growth?
Many are. A common step is an HPHT treatment after growth to remove brown tints and improve colour. It is normal, but it should be disclosed on the grading report and invoice. Some stones are sold as grown, with no treatment.
What sizes can CVD diamonds be grown in?
From melee (small stones under 0.20 ct) up to large single stones well above 10 carats. Larger sizes take longer to grow and need more careful process control, which is reflected in price.
How do I get a quote for CVD diamonds?
